Before use:
- Leave it in water for an hour
- Rub it inside and outside with fresh garlic or apply edible grease (butter, oil, animal grease ...) on the insides
- Boil water with some flour on your stovetop for 30 minutes or put the empty piece in the oven for an hour (at 180 C )
This is just one of many ways to prepare or "cure" your pots. You might know another recipe that will work as well. Maybe you grandmother has one?
The people that produce and use this kind of pots in the jungle don't cure them, but keep in mind they are not as concerned as we are about breaking them.

Between uses:
- Use it on the lowest temperature settings. The pottery preserves the heat very well and gets stronger with every use. You will also realize you don't need to use it on higher settings buecause of its insulating properties.
- Use it only with wooden, plastic or silicone utensils
- Do not expose it to sudden temperature changes (directly from fridge to oven etc.)
- Hand wash only
- In case of difficulties, soak it with baking soda; do not use metallic scourers
- Store it in ventilated spaces
